The seventh round of the Premier League has ended. Arsenal defeated West Ham United 2-0, Timber's point creation instantly caused some controversy. Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher and commentator Jay Bothroyd expressed their views.

Dermot Gallagher said: "The physical contact between the two occurred outside the penalty area but continued inside the penalty area, and VAR checked it. They confirmed that it was still a foul inside the penalty area, so the referee awarded a penalty kick. The foul on the upper body is more easily noticeable."

Jay Bothroyd said: "I agree with this. Indeed, he was fouled outside the penalty area. When his feet entered the penalty area, he started to fall to the ground. He played smartly. He felt physical contact and then fell to the ground after contact. He fell to the ground at the right time. He was honest enough to try to keep standing."
