Mann night reported that Jason Wilcox was promoted to Manchester United football director, and Dave Brasford retreated behind the scenes. Since Inex Group invested in Manchester United, Sir Bresford has been an important figure in the club. However, with Manchester United's internal structure revising, he will no longer participate in daily operations, but will return to his main position at Ineos, namely the Director of Sports.
Nevertheless, he will continue to serve as the club's director and serve as a key link between Manchester United and Ineus. This change was due to Sir Ratcliff's determination of a new operating structure. Previously, Bresford's main responsibility was to form the team, so he is now back in the role of Ineos. Since Inex's investment confirmation in December 2023, 61-year-old Bresford has frequently appeared at Old Trafford and away games and worked at the Carrington base. Bresford has spoken with staff and players to understand the club’s situation and drive the necessary change. He also participated in key decisions such as the future of Tenghach, Amorin’s appointment and a £50 million investment in the training grounds.
Wilcox was promoted to football director this time, replacing Dan Ashworth, who was fired in December last year. Since Ashworth left, Wilcox has actually taken on most of his responsibilities. Ashworth failed to establish a good relationship with Ratcliffe.
Wilcox, 49, will report to CEO Omar Bellada. Christopher Vivier is another key figure, with his recruitment director position formalized earlier this year.
