Sky Sports reported that Nottingham Forest was close to signing 21-year-old England midfielder Omari Hutchinson for £37.5 million.
According to Sky Sports News' Kawich Solchkor and Damesh Sheth, Nottingham Forest is about to reach an agreement with Ipswich to introduce Omari Hutchinson for £37.5 million.
Previously, Nottingham Forest had made a offer worth £35 million, but was rejected by Ipswich. The offer is the same amount as Hutchinson’s downgrade clause, but this clause is now invalid.
Hutchinson did not show up in the Championship opener against Birmingham City on Friday due to illness. It is understood that Hutchinson himself hopes to return to the Premier League.
Brentford also expressed interest in Hutchinson early in the transfer window, but failed to reach an agreement.
