The Athletic reported that Nottingham Forest is considering filing a complaint to the Premier League over Tottenham's attempt to sign Morgan Gibbs White.
Anonymous forest internal sources believe that Tottenham's actions constituted a violation of regulations, and they questioned how Tottenham learned of the confidential terms of the player's contract. However, considering that Gibbs White's contract contains a £60 million termination clause, this may be just a temporary obstacle before the transfer is completed.
Although Gibbs White may still leave the team, Forest hopes that the Premier League can investigate Tottenham's purchase method. The club found Tottenham had contacted the 25-year-old midfielder in violation of regulations without permission. The physical examination scheduled for Friday is now likely to be postponed.
The Athletic contacted Tottenham on the matter, but the other party declined to comment.
