Jota's grandfather Fernando Silva was interviewed by Portuguese media and talked about his feelings about the death of his two grandsons.
Grandpa Rota: "I was watering flowers outside. My son-in-law was with my daughter and said, 'Come in, come in, it's getting late. ' So I walked into the room, sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and immediately found out about their deaths.
I think of them every day now. If they were just one of them died, it would be very sad, but both of them died like this, it would be heartbreaking in words.
I don't even know how the accident happened now, they didn't tell me. They said the car was on fire, but I didn't know anything. I only knew what I saw on TV. I didn't ask my son anything, and he didn't tell me anything.
The last sentence that Rota said to me on the phone was 'Grandpa, because of football, I'm the same as you'."
