How do you know if a cat is deaf? Try these two methods

Like humans, cats may cause ear deafness for many reasons. So, how do we judge whether there is any problem with cats’ ears? Try these two methods.

1. Judging from the daily behavior of cats, normal cats have very sensitive hearing. Once they hear abnormal movements around them, they will vigilantly turn their ears to the direction of the sound source to distinguish the location and nature of the sound source. Therefore, the owner can speak directly next to the cat's ears or make noise while it is resting quietly, and then observe the cat's behavior. If the cat does not respond, it can basically be confirmed that the cat is deaf.

2. Judging from the appearance of the cat, white cats with blue eyes are particularly prone to congenital deafness. Therefore, if it is a white cat and has blue eyes, the cat is likely to be deaf. Moreover, in a white cat with different pupils, if one side has blue eyes, then the ears on the same side are also likely to be deaf. But if the white cat's eyes are yellow or green, the chance of deafness will be relatively smaller.
