BBC reported that Newcastle is in-depth negotiations with Aston Villa on the transfer of midfielder Jacob Ramsey, and the player will hold key talks in the next 24 hours.
The two clubs are negotiating to complete the transfer of Ramsey before the transfer deadline, and it is reported that the agreement is close to being reached. The 24-year-old will decide where to go after talks with Villa, and Newcastle coach Eddie Howe is eager to sign him.
If the club reaches an agreement and the former England U21 international decides to leave the team, he will negotiate with the Magpie on personal terms.
Ramsey also received strong interest from West Ham this summer, but Newcastle is considered its preferred destination if it leaves Villa Park.
Since completing his first team debut in 2019, Ramsey has scored 17 goals in 167 games for Villa, and was a regular main player under Emery last season.
