The Guardian reported that Tottenham Hotspur is close to signing Crystal Palace player Eze.
Spurs are pursuing Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eze after losing Madison (serious knee injury) and failing to sign Nottingham Forest Gibbs White. The negotiations between the two sides are progressing positively and the agreement is about to be reached. Eze's original 67.5 million pounds termination clause expired on Friday. His final transfer fee is expected to be around 55 million pounds plus additional clauses, and the initial fee may be less than 55 million pounds. Crystal Palace requires most of the transfer fees to be paid in advance. Crystal Palace signed Eze for £19.5 million in 2020, and his former club Queen's Park Rangers will receive 15% of the second transfer profit.
Arsenal also had an interest in Eze, but hesitated because he had to sell the marginal players first. In the end, Tottenham, which has the qualification of the Champions League, is more attractive. Eze himself also has a positive attitude towards the transfer, and personal terms are not a problem.
Crystal Palace defender Guy is also likely to leave the team, and Liverpool has negotiated on the England international. Gee has no intention of renewing the contract before it expires next year.
