
Technology tycoon Elon Musk's new brain chip creation Neuralink said on the 9th that 12 people around the world have undergone brain chip implants.
Reuters reported that the number increased compared to partner Barrow Neurological Institute's announcement in June. The Barro Neurology Institute pointed out that seven severely ill patients received Neuralink implantation and controlled digital and physical tools with their minds.
Neuralink said on social platform X on the 9th that patients used the device for a total of 2,000 days, and the cumulative use time exceeded 15,000 hours.
In July, Neuralink announced the launch of clinical trials in the UK, testing computer chips, and collaborating with University College London Hospitals and Newcastle Hospitals.
Neuralink raised $650 million in June.
Neuralink has launched a human body experiment with brain implantation devices in 2024 after solving safety concerns from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA initially returned the application in 2022.
