NVIDIA (Nvidia) executive chairman Huang Renqian said that robotics will be the largest market for potential growth in addition to artificial intelligence (AI), and drivers will be the first major business application.

According to CNBC, the US financial media, Huang Renshaw responded to a question with participants at the NVIDIA annual shareholders' conference today: "Our company has many opportunities for growth, among which AI and robots are the two largest areas, with trillions of dollars of deeds."

NVIDIA adjusted the reporting method of business units more than a year ago and merged the automobile and robot departments into the same business category. In May, NVIDIA said that the business category earned $567 million in quarterly operations, which accounted for only about 1% of the company's total revenue, but its annual growth rate reached 72%.

NVIDIA's sales volume has increased significantly in the past three years, mainly because the market demand for NVIDIA data center graphics processors (GPUs) has remained strong. These GPUs are used to construct and operate advanced AI applications such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.

According to data from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), NVIDIA's total revenue has risen from about $27 billion in the 2023 accounting year to $130.5 billion last year, and analysts estimate that the revenue this year will be close to $200 billion.

NVIDIA shares climbed to an all-time high today, bringing the company's market value to about $3.75 trillion, surpassing Microsoft to become the world's highest-cap company.

Huang Renqiong said that although the current scale of robotics technology in NVIDIA is still relatively small, related applications will require the AI chips from the NVIDIA data center to train the software, and also need other chips installed in self-driving cars and robots.

In addition, Huang Renxian introduced NVIDIA's Drive chip platform and the self-driving software that Mercedes-Benz is using. He also revealed that the company recently launched a human robot AI model called Cosmos. He said: "The direction we are currently working on is that one day, billions of robots, billions of drivers and hundreds of thousands of robotics will be driven by NVIDIA technology."

Huang Rensha said that the NVIDIA brand is constantly evolving, which is more suitable for suppliers called "AI-based facilities" or "computing platform". He said, "We have long stopped thinking of ourselves as a chip company."
