In order to prevent the "crazy deer disease" epidemic, the Chinese Medicine Department of the Ministry of Fufu prohibits the import of deer antlers, deer whip and deer antler gel in the epidemic area, and the Food and Drug Administration has further strengthened the control of deer products. Yesterday, the Food and Drug Administration announced that in addition to the original venison meat, deer antlers and deer whips for food purposes will also be included in the systematic inspection product items and will be implemented from January 1 next year.

The Executive Yuan Agriculture Committee announced that the epidemic areas of deer disease include South Korea, Canada, the United States, Finland, Norway and Sweden, and has stopped importing live deer, deer semen and deer embryos in the region; the Chinese Medicine Department of the Ministry of Fufu also prohibits importing deer medicine from these countries. The Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Fufu further included deer-source products into the systematic inspection items, which was like setting up doors for related products such as venison, antlers, deer embryos and other imported from all countries.

"Crazy Deer Disease" is originally called "chronic wasting disease". As a kind of infectious maritime brain disease, the deer's computer disease caused by Prion protein has changed, causing the deer to suffer from brain damage and rapid weight loss. Even if the animal is infected and died, the infectious protein will be difficult to eliminate.

Cai Shu-yan, director of the Food Department's Food and Drug Administration, said that once the product is included in the system verification, the product input will be pushed from the border verification to the input country. If you want to export the product to our country, you must apply. Once you have passed the written review, the Food and Drug Administration will send personnel to the local area for local inspection and only allow the input after passing the inspection.

The Food and Drug Administration has determined that last year the venison products came from Australia and New Zealand, with a total weight of about 45 tons; the antlers imported from food came from Poland, Mainland China, Spain, Russia and Ukraine, with a total weight of about 193 tons.
